Summary Wiki writes: Azumanga Daioh is about high school life through the eyes of six girls with unusual personalities: Chiyo (the 10-year-old genius), Osaka (the resident airhead), Sakaki (the shy one prone to cat bites), Tomo (the loose cannon), Yomi (the short-tempered one) and Kagura (the resident jock). |
Kumi's Ceres review:This series is a bit episodic, (which for a manga, can be a little bit confising at the begining) but overall its the best way to describe high school life for a bunch of crazy girls. Its actually quite close to real life, in that when asked what high school was like, my friends and I always say "Ever read Azumanga?". The different adventure that the characters end up on are quite halarious, and the interactions between them only intensifies the comedic effect. Its rather random, so plot may not be a strong point but events do occur to keep track of time and allow for continuity. It is realistic in tone, but Osaka's random imaginings allow for spontainious amusement. |

| Chiyo: Chiyo-chan. Shes 5 years too young for high school, but smart enough to keep up. Shes adorable and naive, and often the subject of Osaka's daydreams. ![]() |
