Summary

Mangafox  writes :
Watanuki Kimihiro is haunted by visions of ghosts and spirits. Seemingly by chance, he encounters a mysterious witch named Yuuko, who claims she can help. In desperation, he accepts, but realizes that he's just been tricked into working for Yuuko in order to pay off the cost of her services. Soon he's employed in her little shop—a job which turns out to be nothing like his previous work experience!

Most of Yuuko's customers live in Japan, but Yuuko and Watanuki are about to have some unusual visitors named Sakura and Syaoran from a land called Clow. . .

Kyrie's XXXHolic review:

XXXHolic, otherwise known as Holic, is a Seinen series by CLAMP! The same female Manga-ka group who wrote Cardcaptor Sakura, Chobits and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicals, [as well as some other well known titles] XXXHolic is also based in the same mulitpluristic cosmos as Tsubasa,[and we could probably guess alot of other Clamp series] the artist is Nekoi Tsubaki, who's art style is different, she still conforms how ever to the lanky style of Clamp, everybody is hella tall, I mean, I know I wouldn't fit in that manga.... the crucial thing about this manga's aesthetic is the shading, it's very monochromatic, not even a glint to anybody's eye, this works wonderfuly in the manga, but not too well in the rather short, abridged anime.

The story itself, is set in small adeventures which, in short, have absoluuutely have nothing to do with each other, so at first there doesn't seem to be much of a story, but it very slowly develops, the plot it self is not that strong, it's very subtle, but still leaves a big impact. The characters are wonderfully developed over a slow amount of time, it slowly merges with the plot of Tsubasa, to the point where Tsubasa wouldn't even exist with XXXholic's protagonist...

The story progresses through the day-day drag that Watanuki goes through, from school, to being haunted by demons, to working at Yuuko's shop, each chapter this repeats, but gradualy it becomes more interesting, eventually Watanuki makes friends with Doumeki, who was his... rival? Or atleast Watanuki sees it this way, as he seems to "narrowly" defeat him in everything....

       Kyrie's Favorite character's of the series:
Modoki Mokona:
The black Mokona is my favourite character because it's Mokona. >.>;
Nuff said

Kohane chan:
She goes through hell of alot, her Mother goes pretty much insane, her father leaves her, and she gets forced through the media, not a good thing for a little girl, of elementary school.
Eventually she over comes it all, and starts to learn Fortune telling and.. cookery.
Which makes me feel quite happy, that a character that can go through all that in the end, turns out quite normal, she sacrifices her exorcisim powers for her mother's and later added her own{at Yuuko's bargaining} "happines" at Yuuko's shop.
